Professional Dog Training in South Carolina
At Rockin Robin Kennel, we have turned our passion for bird dog training into a profession. At just 13 years old, Scott combined his passion for hunting and dogs by beginning to train his own hunting dogs for bird hunting and small game hunting. Since then, he has developed a lifetime of dog training experience that has led him to create highly effective training programs that cater to each individual dog's personality and needs.
From focused hunting training to one-on-one obedience training or puppy training, we have a program that is right for you and your dog.

We also offer on-site boarding for all dogs during our programs, as well as general dog boarding for past customers.
Hunting Dog Training
For all of our bird dog training programs, we strongly believe that successful training requires steady exposure to the type of birds your dog will be hunting. As a result, your dog will be trained regularly and consistently over live birds. It is important to recognize that dogs, like people, learn at different speeds. We see dogs that respond more quickly to our training and others that require more patience and reinforcement. We are always eager to provide and discuss an objective assessment of your dog's progress. We also encourage you to spend a day working with your dog and us at the completion of the training program to ensure clarity about commands the dog has learned, and encouragement for you to recognize that continual reinforcement is key to keeping your new hunting partner in top form.
Pointing Dog Training
Our pointing breed training program is for dogs 6 to 9 months of age, and it is approximately 3 months in duration. The program provides you with a dog that will obediently respond to the sit, kennel, here, whoa and heel commands. The dog will be collar conditioned and will hold point, remain steady-to-flush, will back/honor another dog's point, and will retrieve and deliver to hand. We will also ensure that your dog will hunt in a range that suits your style of hunting. Your dog will get plenty of experience on live birds and in simulated hunting situations, making sure he or she is ready to head into the field with you.
Flushing Dog Training
Our flushing breed training program is for dogs 6 to 9 months of age, and it is approximately 3 months in duration. Your dog will be collar conditioned to sit, heel, here, and kennel commands. The dog will hunt and quarter in range, sit on gunfire, sit to flush, and sit on a whistle while also being conditioned to retrieve and deliver to hand. We introduce plenty of live birds in diverse hunting situations such as woods and fields, offering valuable real life experience for your dog.
Puppy Training
The puppy program is for dogs 3 months of age. He or she will be introduced to birds, guns, and heeling on a leash. Introducing birds at a young age will develop the dog’s prey drive. Also, introducing guns in a safe and proper environment results in a puppy that is not gun-shy. This program is 1 month in length.
Obedience Training
We teach sit, heel, here, and kennel off leash. Also, no jumping. This program is 1 month in length.
One-On-One Dog Training
This program is set up for the owner that wants to be involved in the training of his or her hunting companion. Also, for the owner that wants to be hands-on in tuning up the dog for the upcoming hunting season. The cost is $100 per hour plus the cost of birds.
Tune-Up Dog Training
This particular program is for previously trained dogs that need a little training reminder before hunting season begins. This program can be done on a weekly or monthly basis depending on the dog.
Dog Boarding
We offer boarding on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis at a cost of $35 per day. We also offer boarding with daily training at $45 per day.
